I specialize in photographing surprise proposals in the SF Bay Area, and surrounding Northern California Locations. Proposals are my jam! The authentic raw emotion is a photographers dream. I am there every step of the way to help craft the perfect proposal plan, and capture gorgeous, authentically joyous photos.

HOW IT WORKS

    1. We Connect

    Fill out my contact form or email me at jeanie@jeaniehorton.com with the date and location of your proposal. Once we go over pricing and confirm the proposal date, I will send over a contract and invoice with a 25% retainer deposit to book. We will then set up a time for a phone call to talk about your proposal plans and details.

    2. Let's plan all the details!

    During our phone consultation we will go over the location, timing, and game plan. Some of my clients have an exact spot in mind for the proposal, others just a general idea or location. With the help of google maps, I will do some custom scouting and help suggest the best location to get on one knee. I will also give you some tips for a smooth and painless proposal!

    3. Let's share our phone locations the morning of

    If you are comfortable with it, I love to share locations with the proposer (for 24 hours on iPhone find my friends). This way I can see you arriving in real time. Sometimes things can come up- parking takes a bit longer, your partner forgot something at home and put you behind schedule, and you may not be able to get down on one knee at the precise time we have planned. If I can see your location, we can have little phone interactions, to not raise suspicion on the way!

    4. Proposal time!

    I will be ready to go at the location we discussed plenty of time before the planned proosal time. I will often pose as a tourist with my camera, or look like I am photographing nature, just so I blend in a bit :) Your job is to savor the moment, and propose to the person you want to spend your life with, and know I am there capturing the moment. During the proposal I will gradually get closer and make my presence known (if they haven’t seen me yet).

    5. Newly Engaged Romantics

    After the proposal, we will take some newly engaged couple portraits! The happiness and love can’t be replicated after a proposal, I absolutely love capturing couples at this time. We will utilize the surrounding area and take some gorgeous portraits that can be great for save the dates! Additional locations for engagement photos are available for an additional cost.

    6. Celebrate with Friends + Family

    So many of the proposals I have photographed have included loved ones joining in. This is such a happy time, and it’s so fun to take celebration photos after the proposal. A perfect time to break out the champagne and take some fun group photos! Invite your family + friends to secretly watch, or invite them to meet after the planned proposal.

    7. Photo Delivery

    Your private online gallery of digital images will be ready 1-2 weeks after the proposal. You can download high resolution and web size images, share with friends/ family, and order prints a la carte. I will send over a sneak peek gallery of images a few days after the proposal so you have something to share ASAP!

Photograph your proposal? Why?

Having beautifully curated high quality photographs of your proposal, will leave you with beautiful tangible memories, you can cherish for years. There is something so special about photographing proposals- the suprise, the authentic happy moments of joy, the tears… you just can’t get more authentic than that. After every proposal, I take couple romantic portraits. While also amazing memories to cherish for years, these can be great for save the dates, your wedding website, guest book etc.

Please Note: Saturday availability is extremely limited, as I’m often booked for weddings and larger events. If you're hoping for a Saturday proposal session, especially during peak wedding seasons (spring and fall), I recommend reaching out as early as possible—ideally at least one month in advance—for the best chance of securing your preferred date. Saturday bookings are typically reserved for events with a minimum investment of $2,000.
